When Is Spending More on Organic Produce Worthwhile?

The Environmental Working Group ranked 47 different kinds of fruits and vegetables for the amounts of different pesticides found on their surfaces. EWG warns that there’s a growing consensus among scientists that even small doses of pesticides can cause lasting damage to human health and should especially be avoided in kids and pregnant moms.

EWG created a handy pocket guide and even offers an iPhone app that lists both the “Dirty Dozen” and “Clean 15″ for easy grocery shopping.

I've been using the iPhone app and it really helps when I'm at the store. I never seem to be able to remember which fruits and veggies I should be buying organic!
